Movie Review: Jab We Met...

I love Shahid Kapoor. He’s incredibly cute, has a nice voice, and whew, can he dance. And on top of all that, he’s a good actor. He has to be, having Pankaj Kapur’s genes and all. But he hasn’t gotten that one movie that shows everything he can do. Until now of course. Kareena is also a pleasant surprise. Her character doesn’t shut up in the first half, but you love her. She annoys you as...

Movie Review: Laaga Chunari Mein Daag...

The thrashing this movie got surprised me. I couldn’t believe that a movie making machine like YRF could churn out so many consecutive bad films (minus CDI of course). After watching, I guess I kind of agree with the critics. We all know the story by now. So I’ll just do a ‘good points vs. bad points’ type of review. Good points: - Rani and Konkona are fabulous actors, and they don’t...

Movie Review: Bhool Bhulaiya...

Before I begin my review on Bhool Bhulaiya, let me ask one thing. What genius decided that using half naked, booty shaking girls would be a good idea for a video of a title song that includes the words “hare ram hare ram, hare krishna hare ram”? I can’t understand what idiot would think it was in good taste. Ok, getting that out of the way, BB could have been a great movie. It was touted as a...

Karan Johar – Love him or hate him?...

Since there’s not much going on in Bollywood at the moment (other than the Shahid-Kareena breakup, which I don’t care to talk about. By the way, Shahid, I’m available.), I thought I’d talk about our favorite whipping boy, Karan Johar, or as I like to call him, K-Jo. I don’t know what to think of K-Jo. He is a good director, I’ll give him that. But sometimes I think he tries too hard. ...

Movie Review: Aggar...

I watched this movie only for the fact that Shreyas was in it. And it turned out to almost be a pleasant surprise. Almost. Let’s start with an outline. We start the movie with Tusshar (character names fail me) going to jail for murder. Then we find out he’s kinda pagal, so he’s sent to the mental institution, where he’s treated by doctor Adi Merchant (played by Shreyas. I guess I do remember...

Movie Review: Dhamaal...

“Who’s the baap baby baby?” No, I didn’t just make that up. It’s an actual song in Dhamaal. A lyricist (too lazy to look up who it is) actually wrote those words for a playback singer to sing. Remember when songs were poetic, beautiful, meaningful? Oh wait, we just need to look at Javed and Vishal for OSO. But anyways, I’m not here to talk about the song (which is catchy, of course. ...

Music Review: Om Shanti Om...

What an album. It’s definitely worth the wait. Vishal Shekhar have had a rocking year, and this album pushes them to the front of my favorites list. I’ll go in the order that I like the songs. Which will probably change over time. 1. Dard-E-Disco – Total guilty pleasure here. The lyrics are definitely not poetic (London, Paris, New York, LA, San Francisco), but what to do? How many words rhyme with Disco? I...

Finally, some pictures…...

Take a closer look. Yes, that’s Shah Rukh. And yes, that’s his real body. Quite unbelievable. I can’t believe he did this just for Farah Khan. I mean really, he went through a lot to look like this, and I don’t even know if he’ll maintain it. Seems like a lot just for a song in one movie. Though I’m not complaining. Dard-E-Disco...

A little preview: Link to view: Dard-E-Disco Thoughts: Oh My. Even after hearing about the 6-pack and the newly toned body, I never imagined that he would look like this. And I’m sure he’s so proud of himself for achieving it. The song is great, and my expectations for this movie just keep rising. Tags: dard e disco, General Ramblings, om shanti om, shah rukh...

Movie Review: Heyy Babyy...

I watched this movie, not expecting it to be that good, but certainly not expecting it to be so BAD. The supposedly funny scenes are not funny, and most of the sad scenes are extremely overdone. The movie starts with introducing us to the three guys, then we move on to the title song, and I did like the various actresses who danced along with the three boys. Though the dance moves were certainly not enjoyable. The next...
