Wow, this was a great review! I didn’t like the movie as much, in fact not even half as much. BUT reading your review makes me want to see it again. Raj was just too obnoxious for me, and my expectations were too high for SRK/Aditya Chopra.

Will give this another go when the DVD comes out.

Hi Reema,

Great review! I really liked Deepika in this film, but you’re the second person who said she really didn’t get the chance to shine all that much. I guess I was just enchanted by her smile! You’re right, the woman is too gorgeous. Its not fair!

As for Ranbir, I thought he was more attractive in Saawariya, oddly enough. I don’t think I cared for his hair in this one.

I do, however love “Khuda Jaane”…its definitely one of the top 10 songs of the year, as you stated in your recent post.

After all the negative reviews, I went in expecting nothing and was still a bit put-off. The major reason is perhaps that I still cant see Shahid Kapoor as anything but somebody’s cute baby brother (wish he’d grow up soon)! Agree that Vidya Balan didnt look older than him and that Shahid should have gotten better choreography. However, inspite of an interesting story, good actors (they dont come any better than Om Puri), great cinematography, I found the movie rather meh.

I have this film in my pile to watch–I have a strong suspicion I was conned into buying a bad pirate, which worries me because the subtitles could be really shoddy. But it definitely looks like something worth a spin…especially with it only being 90 mins long! It also seems like something fresh and different to come out of Bollywood. Can’t wait!
