How young is too young?

30? Good. 25? Stretching it, but ok. 20? Ok, stop. But 16? 16??!!

Sonam Kapoor to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan

This makes me want to cry. Sure, I have faith in SRK, I have faith in Adi, but come on. Sonam isn’t even 16. Let her at least play her age. Yes, SRK’s look in the film makes him look very young, but still.

Though I’m not as hysterical about it as I was when I first heard the news. Maybe Adi has something up his sleeve. Maybe he’s remaking a movie where it actually works, and the girl is just in love with the older guy, but he doesn’t love her back. Pleaseee let that be the case.

All I know is, it better not turn out as bad as Nishabd. Because Amitabh will never live that one down.

   I actually liked Nishabd (though not because of the age difference, of course – more in spite of it) – and Cheeni Kum too – but this has the potential to go horribly, horribly wrong. It’s not just the age difference – it’s how young she is. She’s illegal. Super ick. Let’s hope it’s like The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer, where it’s all fantasy on the part of the girl.

   I was browsing reviews of race and came across your blog. Great review btw! Saif’s hotness was pretty much what got me through this one too! Just a note, I dont think Sonam Kapoor is 16. Most websites say shes 22?
