Movie Review: Heyy Babyy

I watched this movie, not expecting it to be that good, but certainly not expecting it to be so BAD. The supposedly funny scenes are not funny, and most of the sad scenes are extremely overdone.
The movie starts with introducing us to the three guys, then we move on to the title song, and I did like the various actresses who danced along with the three boys. Though the dance moves were certainly not enjoyable. The next morning, the boys wake up to a baby on their doorstep. Now, who’s is it? They all sleep around so much, none of them know. So, starts a childish process of each guy asking girls they’ve slept with if she had gotten pregnant. After being chased around town, they start taking care of the baby. The way they act around the baby is just laughable. And not very believable. They were trying too hard to get laughs.

So one thing after another happens, all three guys lose their jobs/money due to lack of sleep because of the baby(ok, I’ve stayed up all night before. I could still function the next day. One day without sleep does not kill you). They blame everything on the baby, calling her horrible names. And then comes a very disturbing scene, and it makes you hate all three of them.
They get their act together, and finally start taking care of the girl. Still not knowing who the father is. Then enters Vidya, and we immediately find out who the dad is. Like it was really that hard to figure out anyway. She whisks away her daughter, and we’re told through a flashback, how Dad and Vidya got together, broke up, etc, etc. Vidya says she’s keeping the baby from said-Dad, and the three guys come up with plan after plan to get her back, as well as win Vidya over.

The one treat in this movie comes toward the end, in the song Mast Kalandar. SRK’s appearance is refreshing and welcomed. Though the ponytail has to go. The movie ends with lots more crying and melodrama, and it becomes very predictable.
Performances wise, Akshay really got on my nerves. He was very obnoxious, and over the top. I liked Riteish, but then again, I always do. Fardeen was ok, but I don’t care much for him. Vidya didn’t have much to do, but was good, and Boman was good as well.
I wish I had more good things to say about this one, because I was looking forward to it. Sorry to say though, it only garners a 1 out of 5 from me.
